About Singapore Captive Insurance Association
With close to 90 captive insurance companies, Singapore is the largest domicile in Asia for captive insurance companies. The Singapore Captive Insurance Association (SCIA) was founded in Singapore to provide a home for captive insurance company owners to share their experiences and collaborate in the future development of this important sector.
The benefits for large organizations owning a captive insurance company are diverse. In recent years several factors have combined to make third party insurances less effective and in several cases more expensive than was previously the case. By forming a captive insurance company, organizations have an opportunity to take back control of their total cost of risk, extend their coverage options, and make serious reductions in the overall cost of their insurance programs.

Membership Criteria
Captive insurance companies (or the owners of those companies) domiciled in Singapore and registered with the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Membership Fees: USD 850
Its important to have a forum to connect with other captive owners and keep learning and sharing about how captives are being leveraged from Singapore to support the risk exposures of the global businesses that we all represent.
Being part of a captive insurance organization is an advantage for a risk professional like me, as it offers an enriching experience as we continue to balance the risks we retain and those we transfer. It is also beneficial for my learning and growth journey, as captive insurance companies deal with a wide range of risks and industries. This diversity provides a rich learning environment, exposing me to various industries and risk scenarios. I canalso share my own learnings with my fellow risk managers.
International SOS has a comprehensive captive structure developed over many years and including several lines which are unusual in the Asia context. It's helpful and rewarding to share our experiences on the captive journey both with other experienced captive owners and those just starting out.
